Guest guest
Arul Maa Kadal of Thiru SiRu Puliyoor Dhivya Desam ******************************************************************* In the previous paasuram , Kaliyan stressed his utter dependence on the lotus feet of the Lord as his sole means for Moksham : " Aan-Aayanathu adi allathu onRu aRiyEn adiyEn " . In this fifth Paasuram , Thirumangai begs the Lord to keep him far away from the narakams through appropriate anushtAnams prescribed by Bhagavath Saasthrams : nandhA nedu narahatthidai naNUhA vahai, naaLUm YenthAyena imayOr thozhuthu yEtthumidam , yeRineerc- Chenthamarai malarum SiRu PuliyUr chala sayanatthu anthAmarai adiyAyai ! UnathadiyERkku aruL puriyE (Meaning) : Oh Lord ! At Your Dhivya dEsam , the DevAs throng and perform mangaLAsAsanam for You while prostrating before You as their protective Father and nourishing Mother . This they do every day of the year . At this dhivya dEsam of Yours , cool and deep ponds are homes for blossoming red lotuses that remind us of the most beautiful lotus feet of Yours . AdiyEn is Your dear dhAsan . Please bless adiyEn so that I do not fall into any of the big , eternal narakams . Please spare me naraka vaasam . Special Notes : ******************* In the ThirunAngoor Paasuram ( Periya Thirumozhi: 3.8.1) , Kaliyan addresses the Lord as "nandhA ViLakkE ": " NandhA viLakkE! aLatthaRkku ariyAyai Nara NaaraNanE ! KarumAmuhil pOl YenthAi , yemakkE aruLAi ----" NandhA ViLakku means an eternal lamp . This is also the lamp in garbha graham , which is never extinguished . Kaliyan addresses the Lord as " My Father " ( YenthAi ) and prays for His anugraham ( YemakkE aruLai ). One can hear echos of the above Paasuram in the fifth paasuram about Thiru SiRu PuliyUr EmperumAn . Kaliyan refers to " nandhA narakam " in the SiRu PuliyUr Paasuram . Kaliyan refers to eternal narakam ( NandhA narakam ) . Why is narakam eternal ? There are so many Bhaddha Jeevans trespassing Bhagavath Saasthrams in so many ways in a repeated manner that there is no way to shut down the gates of hell and extinguish the red hot embers of narakam or for the servants of Yama dharman to close down the narakams . Thus , the narakams stay as " nandhA narakams " . Kaliyan reminds the Lord that he is His dear dhAsan with a fully- developed Seshathva Jn~Anam and that he has performed SaraNAgathy at the sacred feet of the Lord , the nandhA viLakku . Kaliyan begs the Lord , His Master , to keep him far, far away from any one of these fierce narakams and bless him to lead a chaste , post-prapatthi life and thereafter to enjoy the Lord at His Supreme abode of Sri Vaikuntam for nithya , niravadhya kaimkaryam there .
