Dear Followers of ThiruppAvai Jeeyar SiddhAntham :

The Mutthangi SamarpaNam date of Aug 8 at SrivilliputthUr is

only 6 weeks away . The Creators of the Mutthangi have left for

SrivilliputthUr to get the Measurements of ANDAL's ThirumEni .

adiyEn is a bit nervous about assembling the funds in

such a short time . It is estimated that we might need a little

over One lak Rupees to complete the two Kaimkaryams .

We have half of the funds needed since the Kaimkaryam

was announced one week ago . The program is finalized

with the Executive officer of ANDAL DevasthAnam now :

(1) SamarpaNam of Mutthangi on Aadipporam Day after

ANDAL returns from Her ThEr festival

(2) The presentation of the Dance Drama Based on

NaacchiyAr Thirumozhi in front of NaacchiyAr Herself

including the selections from Her Thiorumozhi ( VaaraNamAyiram

paasuram , ThirumAlirumchOlai Paasuram conencted to

AchArya RaamAnujA's samarpaNam on behalf of ANDAL ) .

Please join in and support this Kaimakryam for our Mother ,

who blessed us with ThiruppAvai and NaacchiyAr Thirumozhi .

We are trying to make a CD ROM/DVD od the function and

that will be sent to all supporters with GodhA PirAtti's

Thiru Aadippoora Kumkuma PrasAdham .

The Two Azhagiya Singars Connected to Srivilliputthur

***********************************************************************

One of them is considered an amsam of VynathEyar /Garudan.

PeriyAzhwAr is also an amsam of Garudan . This Azhagiya Singar

sat on the throne of Ahobila Matam for 35 years and 8 Months

and ascended to Sri Vaikuntam on November 30 , 1811 .

He had the blessings to see and speak with Sri Lakshmi Nrusimhan

thru His Manthra Siddhi ( Sri Nrusimha SaakshAthkAram ) . He was

an authority on Sri BhAshyam .

This Azhagiya Singar with links to PeriyAzhwAr and Garudan

is none other than Sri VaNN SaThakOpa SrI SrinivAsa YathIndhra MahA Desikan ,

the 25th Pattam Azhagiya Singar or the elder Ilanagar GathAthadharapuram

Aazhagiya Singar .

The Maratta King of Tanjore presented lands for this Azhagiya Singar

next to the dhivya dEsams of Aathanoor and PuLLambhUthangudi .

This GarudAmsa Azhagiya Singar established an agrahAram named

Sri Nrusimha Puram . The BrundhAvanam of this Azhagiya Singar is

at this Sri Nrusimha Puram . It is a very tranquil and sacred site . After this

Azhagiya Singar , FOUR MORE Azhagiya Singars chose Nrusimhapuram

as the site for their BrundhAvanams . These additional Azhagiya Singars

with their BrundhAvanams at Nrusimhapuram are :

1) HH the 26 th Pattam Azhagiya Singar , Sri VaNN SaThakOpa SrI RanganAtha

YathIndhra MahA Desikan ( Reign: 1811- 1828 C.E ) . He is the son of

the previous Ilanagar GadhAdharapuram Azhagiya Singar . Together ,

these two Azhagiya Singar held reign for 52 years and 9 Months and

grew the Bhagavath RaamAnuja SiddhAntham . This Azhagiya Singar

is revered as the amsam of ANDAL . More about this MahA Acharyan

later .

2) HH the 30th Pattam Azhagiya Singar , Sri VaNN SathakOpa Sri SrinivAsa

YathIndhra MahA Desikan ( Reign :5 years and 6 Months from March

15 , 1837).

He is also one of the Ilanagar Azhagiya Singars .

3) HH the 37th Pattam Azhagiya Singar , Sri VaNN SathakOpa SrI Veeraraghava

SaThakOpa YathIndhra MahA Desikan ( Reign : Only 11 months starting from

Jan 31 , 1899 ) . He is Known as the PiLLaipAkkam Azhagiya Singar and is

the author of many Sri Sookthis .

4) HH The 38th Pattam Azhagiya Singar , Sri VaNN SaThakOpa Sri SrinivAsa

YathIndhra MahA Desikan ( Reign : 3 years and 10 Months from July

1905

to December 1909 ) . He is also a descendant of the Ilanagar

GadhAdharapuram

Vamsam .

At this Nrusimhapuram , the home of FIVE BrundhAvanams of

Azhagiya Singars , one can see one to five Garudans circling on

Special days taking us back to the GarudAmsar , HH the 25th Pattam

Azhagiya Singar .

ANDAL AMSAM AZHAGIYA SINGAR

***********************************************

HH The 26th Pattam Azhagiya Singar is the amsam of ANDAL .

He built the Ahobila Matam at Srivilliputthur . He was deeply

immersed in the bhOgam of MangaLAsAsanam of GodhA

PirAtti at SrivilliputthUr . At Narasimhapuram , He built the BrundhAvanam

for His PoorvAsrama Father , HH The 25th Pattam Azhagiya Singar

and conducted His Vigraha Prathishtai there . He also left instructions for

His own BrundhAvanam to be constructed at Nrusimhapuram .

Three more Azhagiya Singars chose to have their BrundhAvanams

at Nrusimhapuram . Only Srirangam with 7 BrundhAvanams for

previous Azhagiya Singar exceeds Nrusimhapuram in the count of

BrundhAvanams . ThiruveLLUr has equal number of BrundhAvanams

as Nrusimhapuram .

If PeriyAzhwAr who gave us ThiruppallANDu and PeriyAzhwAr Thirumozhi

is GARUDAAMSAM And ANDAL was BhUmi DEvi's amsam , then

HH The 25th and the 26th Pattam Azhagiya Singars have the same

amsam relationship .

On Aadipporam days , ANDAL amsam Azhagiya Singar stands

in the front row of GhOshti offering their MangaLAsAsanams

of GodhA PirAtti .

Srimatam SishyAs have a special reason to support this Mutthangi

Kaimkaryam at SrivilliputthUr this year and recieve the blessings of

GodhA PirAtti . Please join in the GhOshti .
