Guest guest
Sri Parthasarathi thunai Srimathe ramanujaya Namaha Srimad Vara Vara munayE Namaha Sri vAnAchala mahA munayE Namaha Paasuram-43 “mangul thOi senni vadavEnkataththAnai kangul pugundhArgal kAppaNivAn-thingal sadaiyEra vaiththAnum thAmarai mElAnum kudaiyEra thAngu viththu koNdu” Brahma, rudra and the other devas do not just stop with prostrating the lord for attaining their wishes and getting rid of obstacles (ishta prApthi/anishta nivarthi) but they are filled with deep involvement to do kainkaryam (divine service) to the lord. During the time of divine worship (thiruvArAdhanam) they rush with the necessary ingredients viz., umbrella (kudai), fan (sAmaram) etc and stand in front of the lord with folded hands. (mangul thOi senni vadavEnkataththAnai) That thiruvenkatavan, one who resides in divine thirumalai that divine hill that stands so high as if its peaks touch the clouds; The devas feels that it is against their dignity to place their foot on this land. But now the lord had made it easy for the devas to come and prostrate him as the thirumalai almost touches their feet. (kAppanivAN kangul pugundhArgal) They come and go every morning and evening (dawn and dusk) to do thiruvandhikAppu (mangalAsAsanam) to the divine lord at thirumala. Who are they? (thingal sadaiyEra vaiththAnum) Chandra surrendered to rudra after severe sufferings due to the curse of dakshaprajApathi. Rudra saved chandra and placed chandra on top of his head. Even that rudra and all others who consider themselves to be powerful to save others when they come to thirumalai forget all their efficiencies and fall to the divine feet of emperuman. (thAmarai mElAnum) Brahma, who was born from the divine stomach of the supreme lord and one who involves himself in the divine creation of the universe; Inrespective of rudra who uplifted chandra from his grief or brahma who resides in the thirunAbeekamalam of emperuman all surrender to the divine feet of thiruvenkatamudaiyan. (kudaiyEra thAngu viththu koNdu pugundhArgal) All come to the divine sannadhi of thiruvenkatavan with the necessary articles for worship like kudai (umbrella) and others; (thAngu viththu kondu) ‘dhariththu kondu’ Holding the necessary articles reads the vyakhyana srisookthi of Swamy periyavAchAn pillai. “pinnE thAngalum kaNdu kaLiththukkoNdu pOmpadikkeedAga vuyara eduththuk koNdu” holding in such a manner that even they themselves enjoy seeing that – reads appillai’s commentary. (kangul pugundhArgal) they reach thirumalai during all sandhis (dawn and dusk).
