Paasuram-45

 

“purindhu malarittu pundareeka pAdham

parindhu padukAdu nirpa-terindhengum

tAnOngi nirkindrAn thannaruvi vEnkatamE

vAnOrkkum maNNOrkkum vaippu”

 

In the earlier paasurams, thirumazhisai piran established how

thirumalai remains as a prApya bhoomi for the samsaris. “sendru

vaNanguminO sEnuyar vEnkataththai” and “pozhil venkatamailaikkE pOm”

But is that all? No thirumalai is the prApya bhoomi(place to be

attained) by not only the samsaris but also for the nithya sooris.

 

(pundareeka pAdham) “vishnO: padhE paramE madhva vutsa:”[sweet nectar

flows from the divine feet of Sri Vishnu] “tEnE malarum

thiruppAdhangal” enjoys azhvar [thiruvaimozhi 1-5-8]

 

(purindhu malarittu) With deep devotion submit flowers and other holy articles

 

(parindhu padukAdu nirpa) panicked by the dangers encircled the

bhakthas stand with folded hands like forests that has been felled

down.

 

(terindhu engum tAnOngi nirkindrAn) letting all realize his greatness

emperuman stands exhibiting his great kalyana gunas viz., seelam in

an extraordinary manner.

 

(padukAdu nirpa terinthengum tAn OnginirkindrAn) Like one tall tree

standing amidst the number of felled trees emperuman, paramapurushan

remains amidst the jeevatmas.

 

(taNNaruvi vEnkatamE) This place is capable of overriding the miseries

of both the lord and his devotees.

 

(vAnOrkkum viNNOrkkum vaippu) It is the greatest treasure (parama

prApyam) for both the nithya sooris and those belonging to this

world.

MaNNOr may refer to the srivaishnavas considered to be the ‘niladevar’ devas of this world
