Guest guest
pirATTi to dhEvasthrEs/rAkshashis srEvachana-bhUshaNam sUthram "idhihAsa srEshtamAna srE rAmAyanathil siRayirundhavaL yEARRam sollugiRadhu" 5 and "pirATTi muRpadap pirindhadhu kripaiayi veLi idugaikkAga' 8; siRai irundhavaL yEARRam Sri sEthA pirATTi went into the prison for the sake of dhEva-sthrEs as the dhevargaL were imprisoned by rAvaNA. kripai When she was in the prison, the rAkshasi-s tormented pirATTi for 10 months. Once thrijaDA dreamt of sri rAmA defeating rAvaNA. At that time, the rAkshashIs dreaded with fear of what would happen to them. pirATTi consoled them that she would be there by their side and see that nothing happens to them. Accordingly, after rAvaNAs death, she indeed requested and advised thiruvadi, who wanted to tortre the rAkshasi-s. pirATTi told him 'Who have not committed mistakes in life; leave them" and saved them from calamity. This proves the height of magnanimity. The imprisonment for the sake of dhEvas and also the care to the rAkshasi-s who had tortuered Her for the past ten months. The magnanimity of pirATTi is thus highlighted. dAsan vanamamalai padmanabhan
