archAvathAram

 

The Almighty tucks Himself into the confines of the ArchA veil. Seldom

He pierces the veil of the archAvathAram. The fact that He supports

all the jEvAthmAs, He is the omni-potent, the omni-present is all the

more surprising that the Lord descends into the archAvathAram for our

sake. For our upliftment, for our accessibility.

 

This is what Sri piLLai lOkachAryAr clearly summarises in the final

sUthram of thathvathrayam Eswarap praharaNam

 

"swas-swAmi bhAvathai mARADi kONdu,agjaraip pOlEyum, asaktharaip

pOlEyum,a-svathanthraraip pOlEyum, irukkach seidhEayum, abAra kAruNya

paravasanAik koNdu sarvAbEkshidhangaLaiyum kodutharuLum"

 

Reversing the role of supremacy, the Lord resides inside the

archAvathAram like an ignorant , like one who cannot do anything,

like one who does not have independance-depending on us. However, Out

of Grace He bestows us all our requirements/ requests."

 

What a great magnanimity.

 

In spite of being restricting Himself into the archA veil the Lord has

in fact, out of boundless mercy and magnanimity has lifted and pierced

the archA veil many a times. Let us go through a few instances.

 

When nam-perumAL was on the routine rounds in the precints of the

kOil, the srEvaishNavites who had gathered to discuss His kalyANa

guNangaL dispersed as nam-perumAL approached. The Almighty

immediately declared that if His routine is going to dissolve the

expreiences among the devotees, His procession would stand cancelled.

 

 

Sri thiruvENkatamudaiyAn on blessing Sri gOvindha-swAmy -an ardent

devotee- observed lingering attachment, on the latter's part, worldly

pleasures. Hence, He ordained gOvindhaswAmy to happily fulfill all

the pleasures in this world and He shall reach Him thereafter.

 

The sacrifices of Sri pEAr aruLaLan of sri rAmAnujA for the sake of

dharisanam is well known. His six divine sermon-ARu vArthai-was the

guiding beacon to our udayavar.

 

The action of yathOthakArE perumAL is incomprehnsible in the sense

that He rolled out His bed and walked behind Sri thirumazhisaip pirAN

back and forth and got the divine name of 'sonna vaNNam seidha

perumAL'

 

In which class can all these deeds of the archA Lord who generally

does not berak the archA wall- piercing the veil, be categorised but

under the Head -Magnanimity.
