In sharp contrast to the regiments of rAvaNA (which comprised of

elephants, horses, chariots and men) Sri RAmA's army had the forest

bear, monkeys and their clan as the fighting force. However, this

dedicated regiment made the opponent face defeat and Sri rAmA

inflicted humilation on the rAvaNA's regiments.

This is recalled by thriumangai AzhwAr and he prescribes the

thirunAmam of the Lord to one and all. He had been talking of several

things in the pre-vaishNavic days. This is a sweet thirunAmam, good

for one and all. A good thing can be shared by all. It is said that

joy should be multiplied. Hence, he invites everyone to recite this

thirunAmam.

And the thirunAmam is 'namOA nArAyaNamEA" .This is the staple diet for

AzhwAr-s and this is the thirunAmam found in AzhwAr gOshti.
