Dates for Upakarma and GokulAstami In US for 2005

Swamin,

Please correct me if I am wrong with the dates for the Yajur Upakarma

and GokulAstami here in the US. Upakarma is on 19th August and Gayathri

Japam is 20th August and GokulAstami is on 27th August. Is there any

change in the Sankalpam That is done in the US if one has to do it in

Canada or the same sankalpam is applicable. Please advice me.

Dear Devotee:

 

The dates for the observances of Yajur Upaakarmaa ( Aug 19

for Upaakarma , Aug 20 for Gaayathri Japam ) and the observance of

JanmAshtami is on Aug 26 and PaancharAthra Sri Jayanthy is

on Aug 27 .

 

In Toronto , On Friday , Aug 26 Ashtami tithi is until 10.13 P.M ,

KritthikA is until 11.02 AM and RohiNi takes over thereafter after .That is

why JanmAshtami (GokulAshtami) is celebrated on Jan 26 with AbhishEkam

for Lord KrishNa at 10 PM on Aug 26 and Haaratthi & PrasAdham at

Midnight of that day , which is technically the time of birth of the Lord

Aug 26 Midnight ) .

 

Same Sankalpam for USA and Canada .
