Guest guest
SrI : Dear BhakthAs : Here is a good description of the Vaibhavam of VaishNavAs in Andhara PradEsh . You all know the differences between Andhra and Baahya. Andhra PradEsh is certainly a very special one , which saw the birth of AchArya RaamAnujA's VedArtha Sangraha right in front of Lord SrinivAsa Of Thirumalai . At that time , AchArya RaamAnujA's uncle , Thirumalai Nampi was there , the AchAryan's sishyan , AnanathAcharyan and a whole assembly of Sri VaishNavAs listened to the Masterly exposition of AchArya RaamAmuja seated in front of the Lord of Thirumala. AchArya RaamAnuja distilled the Upanishadic doctrines and the Teachings of AzhwArs about the Svaroopam , SvabhAvam and Vaibhavam of the Lord of Thirumala thru their 200 plus Paasurams . Thirumala in Andhra PradEsh was not an easy place to access in thsoe days . The whole mountain (Seven hills) is an assembly of SaaLagrAmams . AchArya RaamAnuja hesitated to place His Thiruvadi on that sacred mountain . Finally , He was persuaded to visit the Sannidhi of Lord SrinivAsan and bless us all with VedArTa Sangraham and pave the way for the creation of SrI BhAshyam , His magnum opus. The First MangaLa SlOkam of VedArTa Sangraham that resonated from the Sapthagiri hill of Andhra PradEsh sums up the doctrines of Sri VaishNavam like a ChuLakam : asEsha chithachith vasthu SEshinE SeshasAyinE nirmalAnandha kalyANa nidhayE VishNavE nama: NamaskArams to all the VaishNava Nampis of Andhra Desam , V.Sadagopan Dear all, Personally, I have seen a lot of Divya-Prabandha inscriptions, teachings of Bhagavad Ramanuja, and other Sri Suktis in the Thousand Pillar Mantapam at Sri Simhachalam Sri Varaha-Nrusimha kshetram. Also, even at very small towns, like kandukuru, MAlakonda, PenchalakOna, Mangalagiri, Dharmapuri and others, ( not to speak about Divya Desams like Ahobilam and Tirupati etc.. ), Sri Vaishnavam flourished in Such small Temples as Sri Janardana, mAlyAdri-chenchu-Lakshmi-Nrusinmha, nityAnna-dAna-Lakshmi-Nrusimha, sri pAnakAla-Vara-lakshmi-Nrusimha, dushta-samhara-Dharmapuri-vAsa-Nrusimha Sannidhis. As far the Contributions of Sri Tirumalai Nambi and Sri Saila Poorna, the Whole Sri Vaishnava world knows and no special menmtion needs to be made here. Well, Everyone knows TAllapAka, in Cuddapah district, from where Sri AnnamAcharya came and though born as a Srungavara smArta, became a student of Srimat Adivan sathagopa Yatindra and became the most popular singer of Sri Tirumala Devastanam, with 32,000 pada-kavitas, to signify the 32 letters of Sri Nrusimha-prANa mantra. Regarding the Vijaya-nagara-Empire, Sri Krishna-Deva-RAya, himself became a Sri-Vaishnava of the Highest order, by accepting Sri TatachArya of Sri Desika sAmpradAyam as his Guru and composing the most klishta-prabandha "Amukta-mAlyada" signifying Sri Goda Devi's Tiruppavai and NAchiyar Thirumozhi. Sri Krishna-Devaraya also had his AsthAna-ashta-Diggaja-panditas, the most famous of whom is the AllasAni PeddanAmAtya, a staunch Sri Vaishnava Scholar, and composed the Prabandha-ratna " Manucharitra " regarding the SwArOchisha Manu Sambhavam. Also, Sri Tenali Rama-Linga became a great Sri Vaishnava, accepting the deeksha-name as TenAli RAma-Krishna and composed the Prabandha " PAnduranga-mahAtmyam". Many many are the contributions of great Sri Vaishnavas from Telugu-Nadu. Srimat Azhagiyasingar Thiruvadigale SaraNam. adiyen, Venkat kanumalla of Sri Ranganatha Temple, New York.
