Guest guest
- Padmanabhan Oppiliappan Sunday, September 25, 2005 7:29 PM AchArya Sishyan 3 AchArya-Sishyan 3 Recap: It was seen that AchAryathvam sparkles fromt he perception of EmperumAn. Bhagawath kainkaryam from the angle of swAchAryan. AchAryan is the extension of his AchAryan and therefore the Sishyan is actually disciple of his AchAryan. Now, then what is then required of the AchAryan? This is answered in the next SUthram 'AchAryanukku sihsyan pakkal krupaiyum swAchAryan pakkal pArathanthriyamum vEANum" 313; 'kripayAl sishyan swarUpam siddhikkum;pArathanthriyathAl than swarUpam siddhikkum" 314; AchAryan should have mercy towards the disciple and impart him all the knowledge. This will result in the disciple's AtmA guNam getting reformed and therefore his nature of Atman gets purified. Similarly, AchAryan should always consider the sishyan as his AchAran-s sishyan and he is only insturmental in imparting the knowledge. Thus he is displaying pArathanthriyam towards his AchAryan, his natue of Atman also sparkles. Summary: It must be very clear now that the AchAryan should consider himself as a branch or extenison of his AchAryan and teach the disciples. This is will automatically culminate in being pArathanthriyam towards his AchAryan making his swArupam to blossom. Similarly, by showing mercy towards the disciple if he imparts him eduction, the sishyan attains knowledge and his swarUpam also blossoms. Thus it is said, by mercy sishyan's Atma guNam blossoms and by pArathanthryam the AchAryan's Atma guNam blossoms.
