Guest guest
Dear Drevotee of Sriman Narayana : Aarthi means intense suffering ." Aapanna Aarthi " a term used by Swamy Desikan in His Sri Sthuthi SlOakm (10th SlOkam) was discussed recently in the Oppiliappan List posting . Aapanna here means danger . Aapanna Aarthi means intense , unsuspected danger over which one has no control or forewarning . There are two kinds of Prapaathi ( Surrender at the sacred feet of Lord with the total belief that we have no one else to save us ): 1.Dhruptha Prapatthi done by Dhruptha Prapannan in the form of Prapatthi , where AchAryan intervenes or a highly evolved one performing his own SaraNAgathy ( Svanishtai). A chEtanam does Prapatthi and waits for the Lord's call to Moksham and spends his remaining time on earth doing service to one's AchArya , BhagavAn and His BhagavathAs . 2. Aarthi Prapatthi is done by one in intense danger seeking Sriman Narayana's intervention to grant Moksham , when one is suddenly facing death and has not done SaraNAgathy . Alternatively , Aarthi Prapatthi is also the Prapatthi done by a Jeevan , when he or she is so overcome with sufferings of SamsAram that they do not wish to stay in this Karma BhUmi anymore and seek Sriman Narayana's immediate intervention to seek the ultimate goal of life to serve the Lord in Sri Vaikuntam and join the group of liberated sould to enjoy eternal Moksha Sukham . When your husband cried out of Aarthi in that danger time and invoked the Lord's name , our Lord on the banks of Ganges heard it and came to the rescue and safely landed your daughter on the other shore safely . That is what the elderly VaishNavar meant : " Aarthi Prapannan Aanaai " . Swamy ManavALa Maamuni has composed a Prabhnadham called Aarthi Prabhandham , where he seeks the Lord's intervention in this fashion , when he wanted in a great dhvaei ( haste ) to join Lord NarAyaNA's sacred feet at Sri Vaikuntam , when he could not brook all the SamsAric sufferings .You can read THE INTENSITY OF SWAMY MANAVALA MAAMUNIGAL in His Aarthi Prabhandham : http://mamunigal.freeservers.com/aarti.html Please enjoy it for furhter insights on Aarthi Prapatthi. When nothing could be done, no one to swim and bring her to banks, my husband, cried out " Oh Narayana", after about 20 minutes, she was thrown to that side of the river, where he was standing. ...... seemingly by the Divine Grace , my daughter survived. then a Sri Vaishnava elder said, " AARTHI PRAPANNAN AANAAI ". Can anyone explain to me the exact meaning of these words. What it means? Whereelse these words were used by our earlier Acharyas -- if anyone could cite any reference for my personal understanding.
