Guest guest
Dear aastikabandhugal, I am at present at Bangalore. I was going through the Mysore (Sampatkrishna)Panchanga to look about Vijayadashami. It appears there that on 12.10.05, Navami is upto 0632 hrs and thereafter Dashami starts which will be upto 0412 hrs of 13.10.2005. On 13.10.2005, at Suryodaya, Ekadashi tithi exists. However, the panchanga says that Vijayadashami is on 13.10.2005. My doubt is: 1) When Dashami is for the full day on 12.10.2005 and it ends before sunrise on 13th, how come Vijayadashami falls on 13th? 2) Whether we can perform Dashami poojas on 12th itself? 3) As a general case, if a tithi is remaining for two days (longer for the first and shorter for the second), whether we have to observe the tithi on the day it stays for long or on the day when it is present at sunrise? Can any of the aastikas enlighten me on these points? Rajagopaladasan
