Guest guest
-Sri: VenkadAdhri Samam sTAnam BrahmANDE naasthi kinchana VenkatEsa SamO DevO na bhUthO na bhavishyathi Dear Sri VenkatEsa BhakthAs : After enjoying the SuprabhAtham slOkam recitations from the balcony of Hathiram Bhavaji Mutt , we were blessed to our surprise with the prasAdhams from the Sannidhi (Dosai & Pongal) . Our dear friend , who was able to attend the SuprabhAtham brought the PrasAdhams directly from the Sannidhi . The PrasAdhams were piping hot .The day began well for us . ArchanAnthara Sevai ***************************** Next , we stood in line for the ArchanAnthara Sevai and had a wonderful darsanam of the smiling Lord . Thanks to the intervention of Sannidhi ParichArakAs , adiyEn was asked to enjoy the sevai a little longer without the Jarigandi staff rushing adiyEn out . It was a BhAgyam and adiyEn recognizes it as Dayaa Devi's niyamanam . Evey moment spent in front of Saptha Gireesan is a direct result of His apaara KaaruNyam and divine niyamanam . Sojourn at AchArya RaamAnuja Sannidhi awaiting SaaRRumuRai GhOshti ********************************************************************************\ **************** When adiyEn came out of the Garbha graham , I was asked to stay at AchArya RaamAnuja Sannidhi until Periya Jeeyar SaaRRumuRai ghOshti could enter the garbha graham . After offering adiyEn's DaNdavath PraNAmams to Udayavar , adiyEn sat there with the blissful shadow of Anandha VimAnam for the next 45 minutes . This was quality time to reflect on the Vaibhavam of Azhwars , AchArya RaamAnuja , Sri Saila Nambi , Sri AnanthAzhwAn and the Parama DayALu , Lord VenkatEswara . adiyEn recalled leisurely the excerpts from DayA Sathakam of Swamy Desikan , AzhwAr AruLiccheyalkaL and other Sri Sookthis on Lord SrinivAsan . Here are the thoughts that came to my nind from the Sri Sookthis and AruLiccheyalkaL . Let me start with the reflections on Sri Daya Sathakam as experienced by the GantavathArar, Swamy Desikan , the incarnation of Lord VenkatEsa's Sannidhi Bell . The highlights of the themes of the ten sections of Daya Sathakam and the various meters used by Swamy Desikan are assembled under the following URL for ready reference : http://sadagopan.org/acharyans/sd2.htm A small tribute to Udayavar and His links to ThiruvengadamudayAn is appropriate now as a PoorvAngam for reflections on the incomparable Dayaa of Lord SrinivAsan of Thirumala . 1. Udayavar Sannidhi at Thirumala & the links to Sri BhAshyam ********************************************************************************\ * Since much of my reflections on Lord VenkatEsa originated while adiyEn was sitting that dawn in front of AchAryA RaamAnuja's sannidhi in the North East section of BhagavAn's sanctum , it is appropriate to include a few words on AchArya RaamAnujA's expositions before the Lord on Brahma SoothrAs known as VedAntha Sangraha . All His life , AchArya Ramanuja had prepared to write the magnum opus commentary on Brahma SutrAs , the magnificent Sri BhAshyam , in response to the command of Swamy AlavanthAr . Acharya Ramanuja went to Kashmir to look at the BodhAyana Vrutthi and returned to bless us with Sri BhAshyam . Before the kaimkaryam of writing Sri BhAshyam , He appraised Lord ThiruvenkatamudayAn about the outline of what he had in mind as content . Acharya Ramanuja sat before the Lord of Thirumala and gave a brief exposition on the commentary of Brahma Soothrams .It took the form of VedArtha Sangraha . This Sri Sookthi arose thus BEFORE the compilation of the mighty and terse Sri BhAshyam . VedAntha Sangrahaa was placed at the lotus feet of the Lord of the Seven Hills .. Vedantha Dheepa was written after the creation of Sri BhAshyam ; VedAntha Saara (brief explanation of Brahma SutrAs ) followed there after . Thus there are four works on Brahma Sutrams by AchArya Ramanuja and we are blessed to be inheritors of those four Sri Sookthis by AchArya RaamAnuja . Lord SrinivAsan was the light ( VedAntha dheepam ) on top of the seven hills for AchArya RaamAnuja . It was a privelege to sit in the Ramanuja Mantapam that dawn to reflect on the glories of our Guru Parampara and recall the deep meanings of the second slOkam of Sri Dayaa Sathakam : vigAhE theerTa-bahuLAm SeethaLAm Guru-santhathim SrinivAsa DayAmbhOdhi parevAha paramparAm ( Meaning): adiyEn immerses in the overflow of the assembly of waters of AchArya lineage that arises from the cool and sacred Ocean known as the Dayaa of SrinivAsan. Let us start with the MangaLAsAsanams of Lord SrinivAsa now after the reflection on the MangaLa slOkam of Sri VedAntha DheepA of AchArya RaamAnuja : " May adiyEn's mind be solely devoted to the loving service of the Lotus feet of that primeval PurushA , who is the Lord of Sri MahA Lakshmi , who is infinite and so , not limited by time , space and object , who is the one abode of all auspicious qualities , who is devoid of all that is defiling , who is adorning the Supreme abode of "Vaikunta" , who is beyond a full-grasp by speech and mind , but who is realized (visualized) by those devotees , who have surrendered unto Him "... Dr.N.S.Anantharangachar's translation . 2. Dayaa Sathakam based MangaLAsAsanams ************************************************************* Swamy Desikan's MangaLAsAsanams for Lord SrinivAsan of Thirunala are housed in His Sri Sookthi, Sri DayA Sathakam , where our Thuppul Kula MaNi addresses the Dayaa Devi of the Lord , whom he recognizes as the cause behind the Lord's name: DayALu . Lord's Dayaa (ankumpaa , KaaruNyam) was visualized by Swamy Desikan as the Fifth Devi of the Lord . Swamy Desikan took a deep dip in the ocean of Lord SrinivAsa"s Dayaa ( SrinivAsa Dayaa ambhOdhi) and considered himself as a BhAgyasAli ( Kruthina: ) of Lord Kamalaa Vaasan . Swamy Desikan visualized Dayaa Devi as the embodiment of Lord SrinivAsA's KaruNaa : samastha jananeem vandhE chaithanya sthanya-dhAyineem SrEyaseem SrinivAsasya KaruNAmiva roopiNeem ......6th slOkam of Sri DayA Sathakam (Meaning): adiyEn prostrates before the embodinment of the Lord's Dayaa , who has the roopam of SrinivAsa .She is the Mother of all and nourishes us all with the milk of divine Jn~Anam . EmperumAn alone is the grantor of Moksham. 2. He is Omniscient and Omnipotent. Nothing moves without Him . 3. He destroys the internal and external enemies of His devotees. 4. He is the Means (upAyam) for all sadhanAs . 5. He is the Phalan to be gained from all these SaadhanAs . 6. He is the One to be attained thru the unfailing means of Prapatthi . 7. His soulabhyam is unique . 8. He is the One standing tall on top of the seven hills. 9. He is the One , who incarnated as Raama and KrishNa (Vibhava avathArams). 10. He blesses the PrapannAs with MokshAnandham right here thru His darsanam . With the tranquility gained from these reflections in the middle of all the Kallala kOlAhalam of the waves of devotees performing PradhakshiNams , adiyEn moved on to the anubhavams of our dear AzhwArs and their aruLiccheyalkaL .
