Periyazhvar and Thirumangai Azhvar have given us

pasurams in which they take the role of two different

girls at the same time (Periyazhvar Thirumozhi 3-9 and

Periya Thirumozhi 11-5).

 

Nanjeeyar asked Bhattar "How can a person attain the

state of two different people at the same time?"

 

Bhattar replied "Is it not said that in His divine

abode, an Atma can take many roles at the same time

and perform different services to Him? How is that

possible? It is said that it is due to His grace that

it can be done. Similarly if His grace were to fall

on Azhvar, he can surely take on two roles at the

same time".
