Desikan mangalAsAsanam at Kanchi - anubhavam on 12th Oct

Dear Bhakthas!

 

thanks for reading and enjoying my anuhbhavams on Desikan

manglAsAsanam. Now adiyen, continues from the previous mail.

 

The next day 12-Oct was the Desikans ThiruavAthAra thinam.

After returning from Thirukkachi the day before, at thUpul,

desikan took thirumanjanam and dressed well for the mangalAsAsanam.

 

Adiyen reached thUpul at 6.00 AM. Again, from 6.30 AM onwards

they started kHOshti pArAyanam. At first, desikan worhsiped his

nithyArathana perumal Lakshmi hayagrIvar, vilakoli perumal, thayar.

Then he came out and worshiped three divya desam emperumAns by

turning towards each divya desam directions. First, to namperumal

(Srirangam), pErarulAlan (thirukacchi), malayappan (Thirumala).

This is the place where we can see, achArya Swamy desikan will

worship three divya desam perumAls by turning towards corresponding

directions. Then, Swamy was given nivEthanam and moved to his

birthplace near to thUpul temple. At his birthplace, he was given,

upachArams and took rest for some time.

 

Then swamy will move inside thUpul temple again to perform

manglAsAsanam to his beloved nithyAradhana Perumal Lakshmi HayagrIvar.

Then, to Vilakkoli perumal, thAyar, andAl at thUpul temple.

Then after mangalAsasanam, arulappAdu, mariyAthai to swamy,

theertham, sadAri to swamy. During this, the garland from the

moolavar perumal and sAlvai was given to Swamy Desikan as mariyAthai.

Then, sadAri will be placed at five places on the thirumEni

of Desikan. It is told that, only to Swamy Desikan, sadAri will

be placed five times, not even for alwars, other achAryAs.

While doing this, one person will tell Kattiyam to Swamy. THis is

indeed a great to see this. To perform mangalAsAsanam to Kachchi

PErarulAlan, HE(PErarulAlan) send HIS Pallakku to thUpul, for Desikan

to come on Pallauku to Aththigiri. The pallakku which is used by

PErarulAlan during the Utsavams was given to Swamy Desikan for

performing mangalAsAsanam by PErarulAlan HIMSELF. This is great

gift to Swamy.

 

Swamy well decorated, sat on PErarulAlans' Pallakku to move

towards Aththigiri. Before moving, Swamy entered into nearby

parakAla madam to get mariyAthai from sarvathanthra swathanthrar

and nainAchAryar (Swamys' son) from parakAla mutt. Swamy was

greeted and given maryAthai in the mutt. Then swami left to Aththigiri

to perform mangalAsasanam to PErarulAlan-Varathan-DevAthirajan.

 

The travelling of Swamy from thUpul to Aththigiri is great to

see by everyone. Before AchAryAs pallakku, six biggg kodai's will go

infront. Swamy will proceed in streets as RAJA vEEDHI ULA. Front

prabhanda koshti, thirukodai, vAthya koshti, Swamy in Pallakku, vedha

pArayana khosti along with bhakthAs including adiyen travelled with

Swamy Desikan along the streets to reach Aththigiri to see

pErarulAlan. Adiyen could see some peoples eagerly waiting for

AcharyAs visit to Aththigiri and welcomed Swamy by offerings.

Then swamy entered into temple to vAhana Mandapam, where he was given

mariyathai by nainAchAryar, thatha desikan (disciples of Swamy). Then

Swamy moved inside the temple to perform mangalAsAsanam to Nrusimhar.

Everywhere after doing mangalAsasanam to respective perumal, Desikan

will receive mariyathai (maalai which was worned by respective

perumal), theertham, sadAri with Kattiyam. The order with

which Swamy performed mangalAsAsanam was first, karudar (Swamy is

having more relationship with KaruAlwar, by penancing Karudar at

Oushadri(Thiruvaheendrapuram)KarudAlwar appeared and teached Desikan

to worship Hayagrivar for knowledge- HayagrIva Stotram, Karuda

Thandakam by Swamy Desikan), nrusimhar, Ramar(Raghuveera

Gadyam by Desikan), Madapalli Nachiyaar,andAl (GOthaa Sthuthi by

Desikan), sEnai mudaliar, dhanvanthri, malayala naachiyar, then

Desikan entered into thAyar Sannidhi.

 

Inside thAyar sannidhi, Gopala krishnan mangalAsAsanam by chanting

Gopala Vimsathi by Desikan, then thAyAr gave Ekantha sEvai to Desikan

and mangalAsAsanam (SrI Sthuthi, BhUSthuthi by Desikan) to thAyAr.

After receiving mariyadahi, prasAdam from thAyar now, it's time for

Desikan to perform mangalAsAsanam to Aththigiri varadhan,

pErarulAlan, Devaraja Perumal, ArulAla PerumAl.

 

Since the date of Desikan AvathAra Star Thiruvonam Purattasi

coincided with the Purattasi Navaratri festival of thAyar this year,

divya thampathis were present TOGETHER(sErthi seva) in kannadi

mandapam. Hence this time, desikan didnt climbed the footsteps

of Aththigiri hills to perform mangalAsAsanam to Varadar. Instead

Swamy Desikan went to meet Divya thampathis present together as

sErthi seva in Kannadi Mandapam. There Swamy was taken inside near to

the perundevi thayar sametha pErarula perumal.Swamy was as close as

to Perumal and thAyAr. Even when Swamy was in Vibhavam might

not had close darshan of perumal and thAyAr as of now in

mangalAsAsanam mahotsavam. The gap might be 1 or 2 feets between

divya thampathis and Swamy Desikan. After some time, Swamy will be

taken apart from divya thampathis and honoured by Varathan by

putting HIS garland to Swamy, then mariyathai, theertham,pushpam,

chandan, sadAri will be given with kattiyam. At this time, after

mangalAsAsanam, one can see real water droplets(sweating)on the face

of Swamy Desikan. But since this time, inside KannAdi mandapam was

full of air conditioned, all couldnt able to see the sweating on

Swamy's face. Adiyen was too disappointed.

 

Then started the great event of sending Swamy Desikan (vazhi

anupputhal) by divya thampathis. Indeed this was the great one that

everyone should enjoy the anubhavam of being with AchAryar

Swamy Desikan along Divya Thampathis. Adiyen could say thousand times

(as sahasranama), about sending Desikan after mangalAsAsanam by

pErarulAlan and thAyAr was......(Adiyen couldnt find the correct

suitable word to explain the anubhavam...................)

Adiyen reveals that bhagavathas those who witnessed that would never

forget the beauty walk of pErarulAlan with HIS consorts(ubhaya

nAchimars) and perundevi thAyAr with single Poo charam. Adiyen

attained the Piravi payan of birth. At this time, bagavathas are

seeing both the AchArya as well as perumal,thayar. Only this time,

one can have seva of acharya with divya thampathis. Then Swamy was

taken slowly back followed by divya thampathis to send off and thank

the AchArya who performed mangalAsAsanam on THEM.

 

According to tradition, if any bagavathA comes to our home, before

leaving, the house person has to go along with the bagavathA till

house gate or entrance to give send off. Similarly, here divya

thampathis went along with Desikan till the entrance. This was great

to witness by adiyen. Another famous was alankAram of pErarulAlan

during this procession. HIS hair was decorated with mOondru adukku

kOndai (kOdAli mudichu) which every one enjoyed. By seeing this,

adiyen could remember, thats why alwars says pErarulAlan is not only

beauty in front but also HE is so as beauty as front at back also.

Adiyen was at the back of pErarulAlan for some time to drink the

beauty of HIM and middle of pErarulAlan and acharya to see HIS beauty

of wearing only single mallikai poocharam. This poocharam will be

finally presented to Desikan by pErarulAlan as last mariyAthai. Then

for establishing the sidhdantha, Desikan was honoured by flower rain

(PUSHPA VRISHTI) by pErarulAlan. After some time our Swamy Desikan

without able to say goodbye to our divya thampathis with sad in his

face, departed from there. With that, adiyen was also, departed from

there to reach Chennai by recollecting the unforgettable moments of

Desikan Mangalasasanam to Perundevi thayar sametha PErarulAlan.

Adiyen prays to pErarulAlan to make adiyen and other bAgavathAs to

attend this event every year by HIS grace.
