Guest guest Posted November 25, 2005 Report Share Posted November 25, 2005 Honourable Sir This mail is from Ramanuja dasee smt hemamalini govindarajan Namaskarams to you and the team of bagavathas , our virtual gurus Currently we - my spouse sri govindarajan and self had decided to take up the task of renovating the temple of Sri Lakshmi Narayana Perumal koil at KappuR.This village is about 11kms fro Vizhupuram Dist; en route to THIRUKOILUR Kappur had once seen the agraharam ,of which my=in laws had been a part; but from early 1940's migration took the toll on the agraharam and the temple that by 1980-84 ,this ancient temple (as old as 800 years that’s what the villagers say)) had to depend on a vaikanas agamic archarkar for doing pujai once a day; a change over from the pancharathram' Was it the Lords wish that your noble self had recently hosted an entire write up on agama shastram- vaikanasam and pancharatram the temple as any ancient structure stands in ruins with breaking "sthambams" and leaking roofs , roots of trees invading the garbhagriham what made us seek the Lord here was a constant reminder by elders , bhattars to"seek the kula deivam for he is in a asanthusta nilai" all along we had been praying to the THIRUMAL OF THIRUMALAI as our kula deivam The seeking of the Lord and Kappur began in April 2005,in May 2005 had the first darshan of the LORD He is SRILAKSHMI NARAYANA PERUMAL with Thayar on His lap in a seated posture ; the utsavar Sri Varadharaja Perumal with Sridevi Bhudevi nachiars ;Sri Chakrathazhwar and Sri Vedantha Mahadesikar ,the Mukha mantapam has Sri Desikar in a seated posture ' sri anjaneyan sannidhi is about a furlong away But what astounded us was the tejas of the LORD and His parivaram To know the temple had been locked for a period of 10 months till such time we paid and prevailed upon the archakar to reopen the temple was a rude shock indeed. As is the case of many languishing temple despite being under HR@CE the archakar had not been paid for all those 10 months. the revenue from the 7.54 acres of the Lord had also not been collected Since May 2005 it was a question of establishing rapport with the villagers and then impressing on them the need for a renovation jeernodharanam and samprokshanam of the temple As novice in this field our very first instinct was to approach sRI KGK swamy and under his guidance we were able to meet civil engineer sri gopalan swamy and his team of sthapathi -sri varadharan and the contractor Meanwhile atrust has been formed "SRI LAKSHMI NARAYAN PERUMAL KAINKARYAM TRUST" ..
