Guest guest
Respected swamins, There was an argument on an issue relating to saathumurai. In our saathumurai, as we all know besides the two pasurams (29 and 30) of Thiruppavai and 1st and 2nd pasurams of Thiruppallandu are recited besides other things. Some old swamins maintain that these two pasurams of Thiruppallandu are not to be recited during Anandhyayanam period in Saathumurai while a few said that for saathumurai these two pasurams can be recited. Is there any firm view by scholars on this issue? Adiyen, Govindakrishnan Alagar.
Guest guest
SrI: Though adiyen is not well versed on bhagavath vishayam, adiyen knows definitely that during anadhyayana kalam, for saathumurai, Thiruppallandu is not recited. Guest guest
Dear devotees my profound namaskarams to you all. According to the 'nithya anushtanam' book of the Ahobila mutt, the pallandu pasurams are not to be included in the Satrumurai during this period. Apart from the fact that one must meditate and glorify Godha devi during this month, why would srivaishnavas not sing even pallandu? is the restriction only for pallandu or even for all the other pasurams? adiyal geetha Oppiliappan, Srinivasan Narayanan <malaseen@o...> wrote: > > SrI: > > Though adiyen is not well versed on bhagavath vishayam, adiyen knows > definitely that during anadhyayana kalam, for saathumurai, > Thiruppallandu is not recited. > > Regards > > Dasan Srinivasan > > Govindakrishnan alagar wrote: > > >Respected swamins, There was an argument on an issue relating to > >saathumurai. Guest guest
Dear Sri Alagar : Different SampradhAyams follow different procedures in including and excluding specific items . At Ahobila Matam , ThiruppallANDu Paasurams are not included in SaaRRumuRai in Marghazhi and anadhyayana Kaalam . I will write about the items later in the day . Guest guest
Dear Srimathy Geetha Rangarajan : Yes , it is the custom during the Maarghazhi Month not to sing PallANDu to highlight the glory of the message of ANDAL , the sishya and daughter of PeriyAzhwAr . PeriyAzhwAr would have liked it this way . Another reason : Since PallANDu is counted with the other Prabhandham of PeriyAzhwAr ( PeriyAzhwAr Thirumozhi) , in some sampradAyam , it is not recited along with other prabhandhams during the anadhyayanam period. Each Acharya tradition follows the path laid by its own previous AchAryAs . That is what we are to following with some attendant variations .
