Srimathe Ramanujaya Nama:

 

One time, Andal, the mother of Bhattar, spent Vaikunta

Ekadasi day by fasting the whole day. The next day, to

complete the fast, she asked Bhattar to give her the

Lord's divine water.

 

Bhattar replied "How did you manage to pick out the

Ekadasi day from inside the great divine event (periya

thirunAL)?"

 

That is, Bhattar is wondering how in the great event

of Adhyayana Utsavam, that occurs over twenty days,

and is meant to be spent entirely in bhagavad anubhavam,

someone found the time to perform ekAdasi vratham.

Bhattar's thought is that either one should not have

even been aware that such a day was occuring or one

should not have worried about following the ritual.

That is, nothing should come between the devotees and

bhagavad anubhavam during that time.
