The following are the Divyadesams where Emperuman is

in eight types of sayanams which is called AshtAvidha

Sayana Divya desams.

 

1) Vadapathra sayanam - SrIVilliputtur

2) Veera sayanam - Thru Evvul(ThiruvallUr)

3) Sthala sayanam - Thirukadan mallai (Mahabalipuram)

4) UththAna sayanam- Thiru kudanthai (Kumbakonam)

5) Darbha sayanam - ThirupullAni

6) Bhujanga sayanam - SrI Rangam

7) Bhoga sayanam - Thiru Chitrakoodam (Chidambaram)

8) Maanikka sayanam - Thiruneermalai.

 

Adiyen requests, if anyone identifies any mistakes please

correct the above information and post it immediately.

Dear Sri Senthil Kumar :

 

There are indeed 8 kinds of Sayana SEvais at 27 dhivya dEsams .

 

Bhujanga Sayanam is the most abundant (20 Dhivya dEsams ) .

 

UtthAna Sayanam is also called UdhyOga Sayanam

in view of the Lord getting up as part of His udhyOgam

to respond to His dear BhakthAs .

 

Veera Sayanam is at Thiru IndhaLUr near TherazhundhUr .

 

Rest of it is fine .

 

There are number of Sayana Moorthys among Temples

other than Dhivya dEsams ( Sriranga Pattinam etc )
