Chittirai Vishu (Tamil/Kerala Ugadi) is also as per solar calendar.

It falls exactly 3 months after Pongal sankranti.

 

Also, perhaps it is more apprpriate to use Pongal Sankranti

instead of Makara sankranti, because, it is not the Zodiac of Makara

that Sun enters (SankramaNa/Sankranti) on Jan 14, although it used

to be at some time in the past (may be 2000 years ago)- because

of wobbling of Earth.
