1. brahma-yagjyam -Vedhic recitations ;

 

2.dhEva yagjyam -performing yAgam;

 

3.bhUdha yagyam- offering sacrifices;

 

4. pithru yagjyam - rituals -tharpaNam performed for ancestors and

 

5. manushya yagjyam - honouring the guests with hospitality -virundhOmbal.

rig, yajur, samam and atharvaNam.

 

The Three Fires

 

The inmates of ThirukkaNNankuDi follow the aformentioned practices religiously

and also master the idhihAsa purANangaL -described by thirumangai mannan as

arum-kalai -

 

After all this, do they think that these practices are the means to attain Him ?

No.They are with conviction that indeed EmeprumAn is the means and practice

these with clear mind.

 

All these are narrated by kalaiyan in the final two lines of the first pAsuram

of the first thirumozhi of hte ninth ten
