Guest guest
///1. Tiruvanantapuram --it is easy visit from trivandrum city as it is within the city the best time to visit is 6.30 am to 7 am in the morning. then the temple is open to public only after 9 am/// Adiyen had visited this place some time earlier. One excellent time is after sunset - then, there is no artificial light, and the Sannidhi is lit only with oil/ghee lamps. Since the pillars are gold-plated, the entire Sannidhi gets a golden hue, and Anantha Padmanabha Swami's brilliance is amazingly highlighted. Also, please visit the sannidhi of Yoga Narasimha, which is just before the entrance to Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Sannidhi. Krishna's shrine is also very beautiful. Unfortunately, there is no seperate Thayar Sannidhi in this temple. Guest guest
And may I add, please remember to visit ANANTHANKAADU, the original site of the Sree padmanabhaswamy temple. While doing pradakshinam, one can choose to go out thru the Vadakke nadai (North entrance) and walk a minute to the Ananthankadu temple. This is dedicated to Nagaraja and is supposed to be the holy site where the Lord was first sighted. Ananthankadu is a powerful temple in itself and many childless couples worship there to be blessed with children. Also famous in curing skin diseases. Also, if you look at the stone floor of Sree Padmanabha swamy temple, you will see 'eeyam' (molten lead??), has been poured between some of the grouts. Belief is that a milky white fluid oozes out of the grouts, and the molten lead is to keep it in. This just strengthens our belief that Sree Padmanabha swamy temple is indeed situated over Paalkkadal. So goes the mind of a Trivandrumite who thinks of Ananthapadmanabhan every moment.
