I am pleased to forward a posting on how to acquire them at Chennai and thank Sri Vaasu Vaadhyar , the moderator of Vaidheekam group at Chennai . Normally the further South you go the more expensive and rare "real" Salagramas are. I seem to remember that some "real" ones can be gotten at the Kadhi shop at one end (not the thousand lights end the other end) of Mount Rd. However they are also available at Giri Trading company in front of Kapilesvara Devastanam in Mylapore. Normally of course it is better to receive a salagrama than buy one. If you really don't want to buy one you have to go to Nepal (Gandaki nadi) and there you can get them easily. Guest guest Posted February 28, 2006 Report Share Posted February 28, 2006 Dear Swamin I have prepared & got ready two Salagrama malai ( garland ) one in about 9 feet for Moolavar & another in about 3 feet for Uthsavar to offer them to Sri Nrusimhan at Singirikudi@ Singirikoil. Arrangements have been made for Thirumanjanam , & alankaram with fresh vastras and also distribution of food on 3rd of this month when Sri Nrusimha ( both Moolavar & Uthsavar ) will be adorned with Salagrama malai. Photos of Salagrama malai will be e-mailed after 5th and these photos will also find place in srikainkarya web-site Dasan Soundararajan Srikainkarya P.S. the entire R.C.C. roofing at Oushathagiri ( about 3000 sq.ft ) has been completed.
