Guest guest
Swamin namaskaram: It is a common practice in our family to perform archana in perumal's name itself. However i have heard that archana is performed for the well being of an individual/person in whose name it is done.So as such , i was unable to understand why archana is performed in perumal's name since he is the embodiment of all goodness. Can you please clarify my doubt. Ramanuja Dasan, Gokul
Guest guest
Dear Sri Gokul: As Sri VishNu Sahasra Naamam instructs, Sriman NaarAyaNan is Sthuthi Priyan .. Not that He does not know His own Vaibhavam and Ananatha KalyANa GuNams , He likes to hear his dear ones remind Him and celebrate that Vaibhavam . He knows exactly who is standing before Him requesting ArchanAs thru His SevakAs (Archakaas) and does not need any reminder about who is who . Yet devotees in their desire to have their "special appeal " heeded , request the Bhattar to mention the Name , nakshathram and Gothram of their dear ones .. It is like an abhivAdhanam to the Lord and to offer our respectful prostrations before Him with the offerings that we have brought with us as SamarpaNam . It appears that He would also like His dear consort " to appreciate " that namaskaraNams . Strictly speaking , Archanai done in PerumAL's name is preferrable . The key aspect during the Archanai is to keep the mind still and listen to these dhivya NaamAs and reflect on their meanings to have samyOgam with His Vaibhavam for a few minutes , recieve the PrasAdham as His blessing . Guest guest
Srimathe ramanujaya Namaha Emperuman is the father of one and all. Going to his sannadhi and asking to perform archana telling our name, gothra etc is like waking up in the morning and telling all our details to our father. Anything auspicious in our families is done only in the name of the head of the family and our family head is none other than emperuman himself.
