Dear Sri Sadagopan,

Thank you very much for the useful information and convey my thanks to your

nephew Mr. Srikanth.Actually wewill be leaving in srirangam on 15th and from

there go to Kumbakonam and stay there for three days or so. From there wewill

visit oppliappan kovil, nachiar kovil etc either by taxi or by bus wihchever is

convenient. So there is no problem about accomodation or food in Oppiliappan

kovil. Next month by 10th or so we are planning to visit Madurai. I read in the

email from the groups that samprokshanam for koodal azagar kovil is goin to be

some time from now and I was worried whether we can obtain the darsan of

moolavar if they cover the archas because of that. I hope the Lord will shower

His grace on us as this visit is long expected one.In 2004 We planned to go to

Madurai after visiting guruvayur but after the glorious darsan at Guruvayur the

next morning I slipped and fell down breaking my foot as a consequence of which

i was laid up in Guruvayur for 10 days ans reached

Chennai in tact solely due to the kripa of Guruvayurappan. We have planned the

trip this time and I need the good wishes of all of you to make it a success. As

I am 69 and my husband is 79 we do not want to postpone our pilgrimage any

longer and if Bhagavat sankalpa is so, we wish to finish touring all the holy

places in India in the near future I will write to you about our tour on our

return.Thanking you once again,

Saroja Ramanujam

As regards the visit to Divyadesams by Dr Saroja Ramanujam it is gathered from

the temples that the Thailakappu is schdeled only in the month of Aiypassi and

the samprokshnams are not being planned in the near future. Ther should not be

any problem in darshan as such for Dr Saroja Ramanujam.

Oppiliappan Koil to MAdurai can be connected by road and the estimated running

hours will be approximately 4 hours ; Kumbakonam- Tasnjore- Pudukottai- Madurai

)

There ae several good hotels in Madurai ( for Thirumaliruncholai and Koodal

Azhagar ) and stay can be organized in case she needs my assistance in this

connection As far as Food is concerned if the Madam is particular about the

Acharam she may have to d with the Tample thaligai only. At Uppiliappan Koil the

devasthanam have opened a new block of rooms which are neat and clean and the

food can be organized form the temple or from one of the local cook.

Affectionately yours

Srikanth

To Satagopa Mahasaya,

I wish to tour Madurai and kumbakonam in the near future. Could you give me

the most effective way of doing so and also whether the temples of Oppiliappan

and Kallazagar and koodalazagar kovils have samprokshanam or thailkkaappu in the

near future. I went to these places years ago and could not see the moolavar due

to the above reason. I do not want the same to happen again as I could not

travel often at the age of 69.

Saroja

Ramanujam.

srI:

In Tamil nAdu in the month of Katakam ( Adi masam),

jyeshtAbhishekam is performed in many temples. During

such occasion, darshan to moolavar ( pradhAna deity)

sannidhi is not allowed. During jyeshtAbhishekam,

usually the silver kavacham is removed and oil applied

to the main deity.

dasan.
