Guest guest
om namo bhagavate sri ramanaya Dear Sri Alan, Sri Gabriele, Sri Michael and all members, Yes, we are receiving a number of mails with attachments every day, including many from familiar addresses, which are not genuine. This includes spams, supposedly even from groups owners, moderators and others genuine contacts. Virus mails can originate from familiar addresses, without the knowledge of the owner of these addresses. If you install a firewall software such as Zone Alarm (Thank you Sri Shengping for introducing me to this software.) in your PC, you can block internet traffic (inward and outward) from your machine which does not have your prior approval. (It might still be possible for spammers to send mails with your address.) It would be better to report such spams to , than merely deleting them. the following steps might be followed (for those who are not familiar). Click on This is spam at the top right hand side of the mail. Mark the box "Report Message" (this will be the default option.) If the mail is from some one you do not know or is from a wierd address also mark the box "Block address". If the mail is from some one you know and wish to be receiving mail from, do not mark the box "Block address". Press continue. Empty the Trash folder. You may then to return to reading your other genuine mails! May Bhagavan bless us with the ability to delete all attachments from our memory, and be focussed on Him. om gurave namah suri India Matrimony: Find your partner online. Post your profile. Guest guest
Dear Friends, Sri Suri's advice sounds like it will work. I use Zone Alarm and I haven't received any of the emails that are being discussed in this topic. I also keep my virus software updated. But I think that Zone Alarm is a big help. It is a free software program that is easy to use. It can be downloaded from http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/catalog/products/sku_list_za.jsp?lid=pdb_z\ a1 There are three products on this page. Zone Alarm firewall is the first one (the one on the left) and it is free.
