TOWARDS NIRVANA*

 

 

AUM ,

 

I'm not intelligence ,ego , memory,or clever mind.

Neither ears, tongue or senses of smell and sight, do I find,

Neither water, air, fire, ether nor earth I possess,

I am not made up of these elements in juxtoposition

I know nothing moves except by Thy permission ,

 

So I feel " I am Eternal Bliss and Awareness ,

I am Shiva,I am Shiva ,with all of my might ."

 

I'm not vital force or the five breaths ,

Water, blood, flesh, fat,or fragile bone,

Marrow or semen, belonging to this body alone.

Neither force, food,mind, intellect, bliss, and their sheaths

Nor active hands, walking feet, or wide wagging tongue,

Even organs of action like these, I am not among.

 

So I say"I am Eternal Bliss and Awareness,

I am Shiva,I am Shiva ,with all of my might ."

 

Neither greed nor delusion

I have no such stupid illusion,

Nothing of ego nor pride

Nor Dharma nor Moksha beside,

Neither liking nor disliking have I

Neither mental desire ,nor aim of desiring

Whether it is better to live or to die.

 

So I think "I am Eternal Bliss and Awareness

I am Shiva,I am Shiva,with all of my might."

 

I know nothing about pleasure or pain

Or so called virtue or vice

Of Mantras or any sacred place about which to explain,

Or books like the Vedas or sacrifice.

I am neither the eater of food

Be it bitter , sweet or with spice

Or act of eating be it nasty or nice .

 

So I believe "I am Eternal Bliss and Awareness

I am Shiva,I am Shiva,with all of my might."

 

Of death and fear have I none,

Nor distinction of castes under the Sun ,

Neither Father ,Mother, nor any birth,

No friends or companions for what they are worth.

Neither disciple nor Guru

All this I know , to be true .

 

So I know" I am Eternal Bliss and Awareness

I am Shiva,I am Shiva ,with all of my might."

 

I have neither fancy nor form

All pervading am I,that is my norm

Whether in stillness or storm

Everywhere I AM but beyond all the senses,

Nor in time , with its present, past and future tenses ,

With nothing left to be known or with which to conform,

 

So , I am Eternal Bliss and Awareness

I am Shiva,I am Shiva, .
