Thank you.

It has often been said that, in this day and age, it is impossible to find the

time to study Bhagavad Gita in its entirety. Indeed, the pace of life appears

to sweep us away in incessant waves of action. Help is at hand! We are

fortunate, that Sri Ramana Maharshi, when asked for one verse from Bhagavad

Gita, which would encompass the essence of the teaching, referred to chapter

10, verse 20 where Krishna declares, 'I am the Self, O Gudakesa, dwelling in

the Heart of all beings. I am the beginning, the middle and, indeed, the end of

all beings.' It is even more fortuitous that, rather than stop with this single

verse, he then selected, and arranged in order, a further 41 verses (giving 42

verses in total, of which the above verse is number 4) through which the

non-dual teaching of Bhagavad Gita is made to unfold effortlessly before the

reader.

Sañjaya said:

Then Madhusudana spoke these words to Arjuna, who, with mind despondent and eyes

perplexed and full of tears, was overcome with pity:

---

Note:

Arjuna is in distress. His eyes search every which way. He stands in the midst

of the turmoil of life, unsure of his actions. He is everyman. He represents

the human condition.

When 'events' constantly step up and slap us in the face, what on earth can we

do to alleviate the suffering?
