Guest guest
2 Sri Bhagavan said: This body, O Son of Kunti [Arjuna] is known as the field; and he who is aware of it is called the Knower of the field by the wise . X111:1 Note ..The translation is by Arthur Osborne and Prof.Kulkarni. The translators use 'Sri Bhagavan' in many places instead of Krishna. Nisargadatta suggested once that it was useful to read the Gita from the standpoint of Krishna rather than that of Arjuna . ______________________ Want to chat instantly with your online friends? Guest guest
om namo bhagavate sri ramanaya SrI bhagavAn uvAca idam Sariram kaunteya kshetram ity abhidhIyate | etad yo vetti tam prAhuh kshetrajña iti tadvidah|| (13.1) 2 --- Bhagavan said: This body, O Son of Kunti, is called kshetra, Œthe field¹; he who knows this is called Kshetrajña, Œthe knower of the field¹, by the Sages. --- note: Kshetra is the field of mind/body. As seeds are planted, tended and come to fruition in any field, so it is with the mind/body. Kshetra is the sphere of activity. Kshetrajña, the conscious principle, is the Cultivator (jIva) of the field. ---
