That is My Supreme Abode. --- 'When one sees him-- both the high and the low; The knot of one's heart is cut, all doubts are dispelled; and his works come to an end. In that high golden container is brahman, stainless and partless, the brilliant light of lights! This is what they know, those who know the self. There the sun does not shine, nor the moon and the stars; There lightning does not shine, of the common fire need we speak! Him alone, as he shines, do all things reflect; this whole world radiates with his light. Brahman alone here extends to the east; brahman, to the west; it alone, to the south, to the north, it alone extends above and below; It is brahman alone that extends over this whole universe, up to its widest extent. Guest guest
>From BhaktiratnAvalI: Neither fire, nor sun, nor moon, nor stars; neither the earth, nor water, nor air; neither speech, nor thought can remove the tendencies of those who entertain the idea of non-identity with the Self. However the Jnanis save their followers, in a moment, because they have attained the knowledge of the truth of Unity. He who thinks that his body formed of wind, phlegm and bile is his self; he who thinks that his wife and children and other relations are his own; he who thinks that the idol of clay is his god; he who thinks that rivers and pools are holy shrines but does not place his faith in the realisation of the Jnanis is a veritable ass, the greatest fool of a beast.
