When one gives up all the objects of desire that continually pass through the

mind (i.e. mindstuff), O Partha, and remains content in the Self by the Self,

alone, then is that one declared to be 'established in Wisdom' (sthitaprajna).

---

note:

The sthitaprajna, whose knowledge is firmly grounded in the Self, sees, without

diversity, the universe outside and the bliss of the Self within. With mind

merged in Brahman, he remains awake to the world, yet remains completely free

of attributes of the waking state. With mind free of this mindstuff, he is,

without doubt, liberated while alive. The mind of the sthitaprajna is Brahman

itself.

With mind surrendered to You,

Always seeing all things as your appearance,

he worships You with love for no other,

He is victorious, Oh Arunachala,

In You ... immersed in bliss.

(Arunachala Pancharatna-5)
