Guest guest
I have a question...Ramana Maharishi lived in Arunachala, but I haven't read too many things about his ardent Shiva Bhakti. We get to hear mainly about his 'vichaara' emphasis. Would someone point out any resources that discuss his Shiva Bhakti? I am planning to go to Arunachala - for the first time ever - and would some folks be interested to share their experiences, how they were enriched by their experiences there? I recently came across a Ramana Maharishi VCD - the Sage of Arunachala, which contains some very rare footage. I must say a very well done DVD Thanks Shiva Bhakta http://www.jyotirlinga.com
Guest guest
Dear Rishub, > Would someone point > out any resources that discuss his Shiva Bhakti? "The Path of Sri Ramana -- Part Two" by Sadhu Om is a well-known book about bhakti as a path. You can order it from Sri Ramanasramam. If you want to read about Bhagavan's "personal" experience, I think you'll like the chapter on his arrival in Tiruvannamalai in "Power of the Presence Part Three" edited by David Godman. You can find ordering instructions on David's website: http://www.davidgodman.org Best regards, Rob - "rishub" <shivabhakta <RamanaMaharshi> Thursday, November 13, 2003 5:45 PM [RamanaMaharshi] Vichaara > I have a question...Ramana Maharishi lived in Arunachala, but I > haven't read too many things about his ardent Shiva Bhakti. Guest guest
om namo bhagavate sri ramanaya Dear Shivabhakta > I have a question...Ramana Maharishi lived in Arunachala, but I > haven't read too many things about his ardent Shiva Bhakti. Bhagavan's devotion to Siva is expressed in the various hymns to Arunachala which He wrote (circa 1914?) at the request of devotees. Elsewhere (e.g. 40 verses, Talks, Day by Day etc.) there are numerous Bhakti references in general, Siva references in particular. Indeed His recommendation to take to vichara is, itself, the highest flight of Bhakti. Ever Yours in Sri Bhagavan, Miles
