~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today let's climb up to Skandashram.
Leaving the back gate of Ramanashram the way up to Skandashram starts
immediately.
It is a round 40 minutes walk, not so much strainful. It is a stone way, good to
walk on. There are bolders on the path, where one can have a rest whenever
one likes.
Directly after leaving the Ashram there may be some beggars and children
wanting some money or chocolate and also some stone cavers wanting to sell
their statues. Then it becomes silent.
On the path there sits a Sadhu with his rosary, greeting silently with a nod or a
"namaskaram" or "Arunachalam" and hands folded.
Also we may meet some women cutting vegetables, devotees and visitors.
But there are not many people we will meet. Mostly it a very silent way.
On the side there is a shelter for a sadhu, who seems to live there.
There are many plants, herbs as lemmongrass and many others, which name
I can't remember, but are said to help for many kinds of desease.
Also there are butterflies wonderful in colour, but only few
monkeys, as they have been brough away, so I have been told. Squirrels may
be seen, but they are very shy and quick, so hard to watch.
Soon before we reach Skandashram, the town and temple becomes visible.
Here we have a rest on the rock and look down to town.
Tomorrow let's continue and stay at Skandashram.
