Guest guest
om namo bhagavate sri ramanaya ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now we arrive at Skandashram, where Ramana lived from 1916-1922 with his mother and companions . It is a small building. Left, where the door is open, is mother's small room. The green open door right hand is the entrance of the main buidling. First there is a small kind of anteroom, then another small room behind with the big pictures of Bhagavan on the wall (the famous Welling and the one, where he was 22). There are some mats to sit on for meditation. Behind and left hand side there are another two very tiny rooms. Altogether the building of Skandashram is very small. At a side door one comes to another small separate house, which must have been the kitchen. It is closed. Behind it some steps are leading upstairs to a spring. The water at Skandashram is wonderful to drink - very soft and clear. The view from Skandashram down to town is magic. Surely it must be one of the most wonderful places of the Hill. Trees and plants are spending shadow, so it is very pleasant there. Behind Skandashram the way to the top of the hill starts (see second photo). We may meet some few people here - not many. Some come to meditate here or sit silently. Some come to have a short peep in. Tomorrow we will have a closer look in mothers room - where she died and Bhagavan gave her liberation.
