Dear Friends,

I have just returned from a wonderful and inspiring trip to Ramanasramam, for

just over 4

weeks. There is no doubt that it is the most sacred place on Earth .The power of

the Mountain and

Bhavagan's continuing Presence there effects continual guidance .One's Sadhana

becomes clearer

and one sees solutions to questions which one had never seen before. It is as if

one is moved

closer to Truth by one's own Self and by the Truth of Ramana's teaching. .My

mind went very quiet

there -and still continues to be so even after being back in London .I heartily

recommend a visit

to those able to go to this Great Spiritual Centre .

All love,in His Grace,Alan

Dear Alan,

welcome back home! Good you are here again - you have been missed.

If you like, would you give a report about the Deepam? Would much

enjoy to hear.

---My dear Gabriele,it was great spending some time with you at

Arunachala!Yes,Deepam was

incredible .A million and a half descended on the town {local paper]and walked

the

Pradakshina, many chanting. It was a surging sea of Tamil folk , full of happiness

,joy and devotion

..You could hardly cross the road .Miraculously there were no incidents. All

passed peacefully .The

police had nothing to do .Many folk swarmed the Ashram and the Samahdi Hall was

full .Jayjayraman

kindly invited me to see the beacon lit on top of the mountain at 6 when dusk

fell from the top of

the Library .Fireworks went off as the flame was lit. When I returned to the

Ashram the Devotees

were sitting outside the Samahdi hall singinging Arunachala Shiva over and over

again .Sri Ganesan

had just come back and was leading the singing with Sri Mani .The whole event

has been burned into

my memory .Jay Ramana.Jay Shiva. After about three days the crowds thinned down

and life returned

to normal .There was a huge horse fair and cattle market on the main road down

from the Ashram

..It was a holiday atmosphere all over town .Love ,in His grace, as ever Alan

Dear Alan,

yes, it was very nice to meet you there. Thanks much for sharing about the deepam.

I can now imagine the scene very well. During my stay there was full-moon and

the pradakshina-road was very full.

When coming from the libary it needed some time to have a chance to cross the

road. So many people, barfooted in the

rain. It was raining nearly all day long, but people went nevertheless.

At the Ashram it was very crowded, puja at mother's Shrine was one after the

other and the Old Hall was full.

Normally at night it was silent at the Ashram - at 9 p.m. there are not many

people round anymore and all is closed: Old

Hall, New Hall, Mother's Shrine... but that night it was otherwise.

In His love and grace

Gabriele
