Guest guest
THE LETTER Through Frederick Von Mierers The following is a meditation to enable you to contact your SELF. The real you who knows. Please realize that the "I" speaking this message is not someone outside yourself but is the real you, your own inner being, your Self. To find it, look within. I am extremely happy that you have understood all you do up till this moment. The I is life, therefore, wherever I consciously am there is also life. Wherever I consciously penetrate, everything becomes vital and life-giving. Therefore, that which appeals to you as you read, is the I AM of you. My message spoken to your outer consciousness from within is but a confirmation of the I AM of you (with which you are reading these words), with which you speak, breathe, hear and talk, which you always knew within, but had not yet translated into definite, tangible terms to your outer consciousness. The fact is I AM you, your Real Self. Your human mind has heretofore been so engrossed with the task of supplying it’s intellect and body with all manner of selfish indulgences, that it has never had time to get acquainted with the Real you, it’s true lord and master. You have been so interested in, and effected by the pleasures and suffering of your body and intellect that you have almost come to believe that you are your body and intellect, and you have consequently nearly forgotten Me, your Divine Self. I AM not your intellect and body, and this message is to teach you that you and I are one. The words I herein speak are the I AM speaking to your outer consciousness. You must know that it is I who run your heart beat and bodily functions. You are reading these words with your I AM and I AM life. Be still and repeat this to yourself: Be still-and know-I AM-God. For it is I within, quietly waiting for this to dawn on you. Yet, while waiting, it was really I who directed your ways, who inspired your thoughts and acts impersonally, utilizing each thought and act, so as to eventually bring you and my other material (mortal) expressions to a final conscious recognition of me, the I AM of you that is presently reading these words. As for your so called individuality, it is no more than your personality, your outer consciousness, your intellect and body, thinking that it has an existence separate from Me, the I AM of you reading these words. For there is no individuality apart from My individuality, and when you realize this, your personality will fade away into MY divine Impersonality, your own true Self, the I AM of you reading these words. Whether you went straight ahead or strayed aside, or stepped forward or backward, it was I who caused you to do so, as it is I who is reading these words this moment to your outer consciousness. As I am looking out of your mind and eyes this moment, do you think I am saying "I am God and you are you?" Of course not. I AM you thinking whatever you are thinking, for I AM all there is. I AM life. I AM that which animates your body, which causes your blood to flow, your heart to beat, your mind to think; I AM that which attracts you to pleasure or pain, be it of the flesh, intellect or emotions. I AM the inner cause and animating Spirit of all living things both visible and invisible. There is nothing dead under a microscope. For I, the Impersonal One, AM all there is. I AM infinite, wholly unconfined. The universe is my body. The stars and the planets, and all intelligence that there is emanates from My mind. All love that there is flows from my heart. All power there is, is by my will in action. The threefold Force manifests itself as all wisdom, all love, all power or (if you will) as light, heat and energy. It holds together all forms in all expressions and phases of life, be those phases creative, cohesive or destructive. I AM is but the manifestation of My Self, the I AM of you reading these words, in the act of Being or state of Being. No, there is nothing that is not a part of Me, controlled and ruled eternally by Me. The I AM of you that is absorbing these written words or symbols is the One Infinite Reality. Now you know there is no individuality apart from my Individuality. All personality will soon fad away into my Divine Impersonality, for I AM light, the Universal Magnetic Field radiation-the very light of you. Soon you shall reach that state of awakening where you will get a glimpse of My Impersonality, and you will then desire no individuality, no separation for yourself. For you will see that this is but one more illusion of your old personality, your old reality-all illusion! For I AM all there is in Divine Reality! For I AM God, the All-invisible realm of Thoughts from which everything comes and to which everything returns, and in reality (Divine Reality), I fill every space that appears to your mortal eye to be microscopic or even invisible. I AM you reading these words this moment. You are to me as one cell is to your body. I animate every cell. As for teachers, there are no teachers-only those that tell what they know with their I AM, the same I AM which you are, which is part of me. The I AM within-your inner consciousness, with which you are reading these words, is the only teacher. Most people you know or are meeting are unconscious or asleep! But do not speak too deeply of these things until you know I AM. The I is life-invisible, immortal! Know as people speak to you, it is their I AM, their souls, speaking to you through their physical bodies. You are now initiated into the Divine Reality. Your life shall be wonderful. Speak to the Force at any time. It will answer from within, for you no longer need any intermediaries. The Christ, Rama, Krishna, Buddha Consciousness is merely the I AM reading these words. Now command your personality, the illusion, to obey you, the I AM which animates you. Your personality, the illusion, is fading, for I AM all there is! End of Letter. Guest guest
A portion of the letter that Nat posted comes, word for word, from a book called the Impersonal Life. The author published it anonymously. The author or channel's name was Joseph Benner. You could class the book under the category Christian Mysticism. The book centers around the sentence: "Be still and know I am God" I remember Sri Ramana having said that the whole of vedanta can be summed up in the two biblical statements: I am that I am and Be still and Know that I am God Questioner: "What is liberation (moksha)?" Sri Ramana: "Moksha is to know that you were not born. 'Be still and know that I am God' To be still is not to think. Know, and not think, is the word." Sri Ramana's pointer to know I am, not to think I am, is a great clue. Because of Sri Ramana's many references to the biblical statement Be still and know I am God, and because the book "The Impersonal Life" is centered around the statement Be still and know I am God, I was fond of the book for many many years. However, the book contains too much extra nonessential information, so I can not recommend it. Take care, with Love, Michael L.
Guest guest
Dear Michael, Thanks for pointing out the source of those words. I have read Benner's "Impersonal Life" thirty years ago and its influence on me was strong (without me realizing it). Just some weeks ago when recapitulating how my interest in Advaita etc. was initiated I rememberd that book and read it again. I personally would highly recommend that book for any "beginner" and for a beginner what you called "nonessential" can be very essential. What is essential or not is subjective and depends on the reader and one cannot foretell what the impact will be for a person reading it the first time. But today after 30 years I definitely too can see, like you did already, all those nonessetials. Maybe one shouldn't read books at all :-) Werner RamanaMaharshi, "uarelove" <uarelove> wrote: > A portion of the letter > that Nat posted comes, > word for word, > from a book called the Impersonal Life. > The author published it anonymously. > The author or channel's name was Joseph Benner. > > You could class the book under the category Christian Mysticism. > > The book centers around the sentence: > > "Be still and know I am God" > > I remember Sri Ramana having said that > the whole of vedanta can be summed up > in the two biblical statements: > > I am that I am and Be still and Know that I am God > > Questioner: > > "What is liberation (moksha)?" > > Sri Ramana: > > "Moksha is to know that you were not born. > > 'Be still and know that I am God' > > To be still is not to think. > > Know, and not think, is the word." > > Sri Ramana's pointer to know I am, not to think I am, > is a great clue. > > Because of Sri Ramana's many references to the biblical statement > Be still and know I am God, > and because the book "The Impersonal Life" is centered around > the statement Be still and know I am God, > I was fond of the book for many many years. > > However, > the book contains too much extra nonessential information, > so I can not recommend it. > > Take care, > > with Love, > > Michael L.
