What is unfortunate, as happened in my case, is to not have full knowledge of the many approaches to Self-inquiry and Self-abidance, and to begin practicing based on premature conclusions and limited options. In other words, I wished I had fully investigated all the possible approaches first. Or I wish Rob had been around 30 years ago to tell me that they appear to be more like an enigma to be solved than instructions. Because that clue would have given me plenty of reason to further investigate and to challenge my assumptions regarding self-inquiry and self-abidance. I wish I had paid more attention to what Sri Sadhu Om was saying in The Path of Sri Ramana, Part 1 and what Muruganar was communicating in The Garland of Guru's Sayings. One of the essential points being made by Sri Sadhu Om is that not all approaches to Self-inquiry are equal in their effectiveness, and he goes into great detail to explain why they are not equal in their effectiveness. Take care, with Love, Michael L.
