Dear Members,

following the string about the satvic diet the cowshed of Ramanashram came

to mind - so today I want to make an excurse with you to the goshala.

Bhagavan visited his cow-devotees several times a day.

At the back area of Ramanashram, some green land with trees is found,

where the cattle has a beautiful stay. The several sheds are kept very clean and good.

I don't understand much from farming - but it was my expression,

that the cattle at Ramanashram is very well cared for.

Here are 2 photos of the animals, one of them shows the young calves in their

special shed.

Each day there is buttermilk and fresh milk served in the dining hall.

Possibly this look explains all about vegetarian diet. What could be said?

Many years ago on my regular cycling tours I had to pass a slaughterhouse.

There was nothing seen from outside - but the smell of anguish and death was

very intense when passing. This was the main-reason to keep away from eating meat as possible,

though I never have been a 100% vegetarian. On occasions of invitations etc.

I eat was is on the table - meat included. It depends also on situation.

Also because of a serious health reason I was once forced to eat meat in larger

quantities as I became weaker and weaker. What can one do?

Now this health-problem is solved and I can again keep on with eat vegetarian food.

So the reason here is not to keep satvic diet for my own sake only -

the main reason here is possibly more that I can't look into this trustful animal-eyes and then

eat them, if this can be avoided.

Kind regards

in Bhagavan

Gabriele
