Dear Alamelu,

I am not sure if I understood your question correctly

but will give it a shot.

When I started atma vichara it was done while sitting

exclusively in meditation like you mentioned. It (The

Vichara) did not stop there but continued when I was

doing the daily chores (cooking, working, etc). It was

a constant undercurrent on which the rest of the

worldy work was done.

When any sense of peace was felt, it was an added

incentive to continue with the vichara. The mind asked

the question "who is expereincing this peace"?

The duality still persists, hence vichara still

continues. The change now is the mind is comparatively

rested and acceptance of things as is comes easily.

Hope you are settled into your new role as a wife.

:-).Hope this answers your question, if not please

excuse me.

love

Yamini

Was/is the i who experienced some unexpainable peace your

personal/egoic/individual self or some other/more real you?

My experience is that the question Who am I? leads one to recognize

the difference between a personal/egoic self/personality and the real

or true me. When you ask Who am I? you may hear, say, think - me! I

am me! Then you ask Who is this me? Who are you? or Who am I as this

me? Am I this me? etc. When you recognize that this separate,

little, independent, isolated, personal/egoic me is not you - just

something that you own and use, and you might stop taking it

seriously and/or cease believing in it's value, importance or even

it's existance! If all goes well, you will simultaneously realize,

FEEL, know, or become THAT which you are and always were, way before

the creation of you imaginary little egoic self way back in early

childhood. Hope this brief comment helps you see the point and goal

of self-inquiry which is to separate your little ego self from the

real you long enough to fully get it that you are you and never were

a little egoic person as you may have always believed.

same here....just ask who is it that sits or doesn't sit? The answer

will be: Me! I don't/do sit! Then ask who or what is this me/I that

doesn't/does sit? when you see/feel/know that you are not the

egoic/person - you will be or remember your true identiy.
