>ENGLISH TRANSLATION

OF

BHAJANS SUNG BY KUMAR GANDHARVA CONTINUED

3. Guraa To Jine....(Shivaguru)

He alone is a true Guru

Who gives the jadi (herb, medicine)

Of Jnana.

He alone is the true Guru.

That jadi which is so dear to me

Is filled with the Amrit of Spiritual Knowledge

Within this city of my body

There is a `house’ (heart)

Where this secret (i.e. jadi) is hidden

The five male and twenty-five female snakes**

All perished with the first whiff of the jadi of Knowledge.

The tyrant `Time’ holds sway

Over all the worlds,

But seeing my Sadguru,

Flees in Fear.

>From the feet of Truth

Shivaguru says::

Take soon to the way

Of Paramartha

**5 male snakes = 5 senses

  25 female snakes = 25 vikaras (mental and physical) of the five tattvas.

These are

•                    Akash: kama, krodha, lobha, moha, bhaya.

•                    Fire: Hunger, Thirst, Sloth (Aalasya), Sleep, Sex.

•                    Air: Chalan (Moving), Balan (Lifting), Dhaavan (Running),

Pasaaran

(Spreading) Narkahan(Retracting).

•                    Water: Saliva, Blood, Sweat, Urine, Semen

•                    Earth: Bones, Flesh, Skin, Nerves, Hair

SIDE B

3.  Avadhoota, Gagan Gahatta Geharayi Re....(Kabir)

[ Meaning: O Seeker, waste not the opportunity, it may go fleeting by.  Do your

Sadhana and sow

the seeds of Truth.  Let not doubt come in, and the animal tendencies ravage the

Crop.  Let your

sadhana mature gradually and then stabilize it.]

O Sadhak, the sky above is heavy-laden with clouds.

>From the West the clouds have turned up

(symbolic for Kundalini rising)

The rain falls in rhythm (Naada can be heard)

Wake O Wise one, and tend to your field

Before the water flows past.

Yoke up the bullocks of Neerat and Surat

Sow the seeds of Truth

Let not the weeds of Doubt grow

O, sow the seeds of Naam.

At the four corners let the guards stand alert.

Lest wild animals ravage your crop.

Harvest the ripened crop and bring the grain

home (mature gradually to the Samadhi stage)

And store it all securely (stabilize the Samadhi

experience)

The five maidens* together cook the meal

Which Munis and Jnanis eat

Says Kabir. Listen O brothers !

Sow the seeds of Naam.

 ^^ Surat:     Naada

     Neerat:   Delight according to Radha Soamis: (2) State beyond Naada, as per

Kabir.

*   5 maidens: pancha koshas

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A lovely, pleasant morning at Holy Arunachala !  I think of you all, and offer
prayers to Him, as
well !  There is only one prayer and that is, "plunging within"  and "remaining
quiet",  listening
to the SILENCE !
Namaskar.
Ganesan.
