Guest guest
Dear Bala, Various scriptures like The Vedas, Agams,Nigams, Puranas, different Gitas, Bhagavat, Ramayana, The Holy Bible, Guru grinth Sahib etc. are all written with a single aim i.e., to help man in self realisation. They incorporate the teachings of different sages and rishis who taught with their practical experience. However these teachings havebeen given at various times and were aimed at different types of persons having different levels of maturity, different background and different samskars. The sages were aware of the fact that all cannot be sincere sadhaks and the majority are the common worldly people and due to their compassion and in order to help them grow purity of mind they have written many scriptures like Puranas, Ramayana, Bhagavat etc for the masses in the form of simple and easily understandable stories but containing, in essence, the profound truth.Even the Vedas have, at different places, apparently contradictory teachings. This is because of the fact that the Vedas are supposed to be the treasurehouse of all different paths of knowledge and are meant to serve as an ensyclopedia for all sadhaks. We need to choose those scriptures for our reading which suits our understanding and levels of maturity. However it may be noted that all the scriptures are only pointers to the reality, which being beyond mind and intellect, is a matter of personal experience through practise. In fact once the conceptual clarity has been obtained the scriptures have served their purpose and are of no further use. Thereafter it is a matter of practical sadhana, grace of the Guru and personal experience. All of us in this group who are already in the 'Tiger's jaw' , however need not worry too much about scriptures and their varied teachings since our Bhagawan is himself all scriptures personified in one. His words and the direct path taught by him saves us the time and efforts worth several lifes which would havebeen wasted in roaming through the jungles of the scriptures. We indeed are the fortunate ones for having been choosen by Him for bestowing his benign blessings. In his grace sidhartha
