The elephant story

This is one of my favorites:

 

 

After having received instructions from his guru to treat all as

God, the disciple was walking along a path in the jungle.

 

Suddenly his master rushed past him and yelled," Get off the

trail, an elephant is angry and wild and coming this way!"

 

The disciple chose to stay on the path, thinking " the elephant is

God too, he will not harm me."

 

The elephant of course runs down the poor man leaving him

lying on the path near death.

 

His master comes back and asks the disciple why he did not

move.

 

He tell his master his logic.

 

His guru laughs and says, " But you forgot to treat me as God

also and *I* told you to move."
