om namo bhagavate sri ramanaya

Here is a short poem by Sadhu Ekarasa (Dr G H Mees)

from the Golden Jubilee Souvenir 1946

The Tear Drops in Eyes, I offer

There is little left here, Bhagavan,

To offer Thee - too poor am I:

There is nothing left at all to give,

For all achievements vanish at Thy Feet

And all things dwindle to mere nothingness,

--So trivial are all forms life --,

There is one thing only with faltering heart

I dare to offer Thee--,

If Thou wilt graciously accept:

It is tear-drops in my eyes

Which ever manifest themselves

In silent contemplation of Thy Grace.

They spring from Thee:

They are the elixir of Bliss--

Let them return to Thee,

Their Source, the Ocean of Pure Love,

As a symbol of my heart.

- Sadhu Ekarasa
