> I told them two stories, in this connection, both anecdotes were on

> Gautama Buddha, as told by Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Sri Ramana

> Maharshi. The essence of both the stories is to clearly state the

> power of true

> 'compassion' - the story of Angulimala's meeting with the Buddha and

> the meeting of the Buddha with his father,

> Suddhodhana, in his own Palace. On both occasions, the Buddha stood

> still, without uttering a single word

> but directed His look of Compassion on them; and, such true

> compassion, made both of them fall at the Buddha's

> feet and become 'monks' , themselves ! The power of compassion,

> I emphasised, is not in any form of 'action' ,

> but refraining from action -- opening up the flood-gates of the Heart

> !

> Each day is a land mark, if one delves with the messages of the Great

> Masters !
