Guest guest
Ramana says the heart is the location of the self, the divine light. In many other traditions, it is the Ajna (third eye) centre which is associated with the light of the higher Self. Anyone like to comment on this ? Many thanks Eric
Guest guest
om namo bhagavate sri ramanaya Dear Eric, > Ramana says the heart is the location of the self, the divine light. > > In many other traditions, it is the Ajna (third eye) centre which is > associated with the light of the higher Self. > > Anyone like to comment on this ? Sri Ramana also says: ''All are important. Self (Atman) is everywhere in the body. Some say you should see it in Muladharam; some say in Anahatam and some say in the Sahasraram. It is the same whichever it is. But, for all of them, the place of birth and of dissolution is Anahatam only.'' (Letters from Sri Ramanasramam, 18th January 1949) 'It is all meant to help the bhavana (imagery). There are books dealing with six centres (shadcakra) and many other lakshyas (centres), internal and external. The description of the Heart is one among so many lakshyas. But it is not necessary. It is only the source of the 'I'-thought. That is the ultimate truth.' (Talks; 391) '...the whole shadadhara (six-fold centre) is contained in the Heart.' (Talks; 299) (also, cf. Talks: 403; 474 etc.) Regards, Miles

You can read "Talks with Sri Ramana Maharshi." Bhagavan's teaching, if practiced, is superior to speculation. Here is more on the Heart. /archive/MagazineV2/harsha/heart.html Love to all Harsha
