Guest guest
Dear All: This message is on behalf of Shri. Chandhru Maamaa (Maamaa in Tamil means uncle) who has been involved as a Bhagavaan devotee with the Ashram work for several years and who is in his 80's I am told. I am also told Shri. Chandhru Maamaa is the brother of Shri. Natesan who is a direct disciple of Shri. Kapali Sasthri who is in turn the disciple of Shri. Nayana (Shri. Kavya Kanta Ganapathi Muni), one of the more prominent and learned devotees of Shri. Bhagavaan. Shri. Chandhru maamaa has been actively organizing Krishna Yajur Veedha Paaraayanaa @ TV Malai for many years now. The yearly Paaraayanam which is going on for the last 150 years or so was blessed by Shri. Bhagavaan and is very unique, in that it has 30 Pundits who are very well versed in Veedhaas chanting for 10 days continuously. These pundits are paid Rs. 10000/ each by the Paaraayanam Trust and are held exclusively for this chanting for these 10 days. The Endowment or Trust was created by Late Shri. Panchanatha Sasthrigal, an erudite and vedic scholar, who took it as his mission to teach and spread the vedhic lessons to one and all. The Trust was set up to arrange recitation of Krishna Yajur Veedhaa during the Brammotsavam during the Kaarthikai Deepam Festival. This year the Parayanaa is going to start on November 17th and continue till November 26th. [The Karthikai Deepam Brammotsavam festivals start on November 17th (Dwajarohanam) and go on a daily-basis beyond the 10th day Deepam festival on November 26th to end on November 30th with Vidayathi Utsavam for Lord Chandikeshwarar.] Since the expenses are increasing to conduct such a Veedha Paaraayanam every year, Shri. Chandhru maamaa, who is the Managing Trustee of the Trust now, requested me to appeal to the devotees here to donate generously for this cause. Kindly send the cash/check/Demand Draft donations to Shri. K. Chandrasekarn, Managing Trustee, Veda Paraayanama Trust, No. 46, North Iyyenkula Agraharam, Tiruvannamalai-606 601, Tamil Nadu, India. Also, please contact him at (011)-91-(0)4175-222045 if you have any questions or need more details. Please also attend the Paaraayanam festivals if you happen to be in TV Malai during this period. One has to listen to the chanting done by Pundits to know/feel the vibrations that emanate from the mere sound of the chanting. thanks and love to all, Murthy
