Bhagavad Giitaa chap two verse 69 in Itrans.

 

yaa nishaa sarvabhuutaanaaM

 

what (is) the night of all beings

 

tasyaaM jaagrati saMyamii .

 

in this he is wakeful, the man of restraint;

 

 

yaryaaM jaagrati bhuutaani

 

in what they are wakeful, beings,

 

saa nishaa pashyato muneH .. 69 ..

 

that (is) the night of the seeing sage.

 

 

yaa (f. nom. sg.), what, which

nisha (f. nom. sg.) night

sarvabhuutaanam (n. gen. pl.)of all beings

tasyaam (f. loc. sg.)in it, in this

jaagrati (3rd sg. pr. indic. act. check jaagr.) he are wakeful,

he are watchful

saMyamii (m. nom. sg.) the restrained one, the man of restraint

yasyaam (f. loc. sg. ) in what, in which

jaagrati (3rd sg. pr. indic. act. check jaagr.) he are wakeful,

he are watchful

bhuutaani (n. nom. pl.) beings, existences

saa (f. nom. sg.) this, that

nisha (f. nom. sg.) night

pashyatas (m. gen. sg. pr. participle check pash) of the seeing, of

the percieving

munes (m. gen. sig.) of the sage, of the wise man

 

The man of restraint is awake

In that which is night for all beings;

The time in which all beings are awake

Is night for the sage who sees.

 

* Meaning that the "sage who sees" percieves

the light of the aatman, which is dark as night to

others, while the others see the light of the sense

which is dark as night to the sage
