Guest guest
Dear Friends, I am an interfaith devotee of Bhagavan; I have Cherokee ancestry--two Cherokee grandmothers--and I was raised Christian. I have studied Advaita Vedanta for many years and was initiated in the lineage of Sri Ramakrisna and Sri Sarada Devi when I was in my twenties. Bhagavan holds a central place on my heart shrine. Everything I do in my interfaith work with others inevitably refers back to the Self and Bhagavan's one unchanging, and enthralling note of the Self, and of abiding as That! I am enjoying this group and all the good postings and offerings the devotees are contributing from Bhagavan's incomparable teaching of the Self. Thank you all! I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy New Year! My Cherokee grandmother taught me to greet the day each morning, and to offer prayers for the earth and its peoples, including the natural people. Here is my prayer as all are dealing with the tidal wave catastophe and the agony we see everywhere: "May we walk in beauty in this coming new year; in the midst of all dark night and suffering, may the softness of the morning light touch our eyes each day. May we renew as the earth renews." In love and in peace, Sister Judith Thackray, OSAh (Rainbowbird) Eastern Cherokee Take Mail with you!
