Guest guest
dear members, Bhagavan has said that all activities in one's life is all destined.if so what about the numerous miracles that He has performed and the ones He is still performing.i was reading "THE POWER OF THE PRESENCE" by DavidGodman in which he states how Bagavan's childfood friend and devotee Rangan was saved from many misfortunes miraculously.Bhagavan had already predicted about the hardtimes he was to face .but Rangan had replied that when HE is with him nothing can harm him.so though he encountered alot of misfortunes one after the other in a chain of events he was miraculously saved. anothertime when a buddhist monk i guess if iam not mistaken asked Bhgavan as to whether a Guru takes care of both the spiritual needs as well as the material needs of a devotee, Bhagavan answered that everything is taken care of by the Guru(from the"Gospel of RamanaMaharshi").Bhagavan normally avoided such questions as he did not want His devotees to get sidetracked from the main goal and also He did not acknowledge His own powers when things changed for the best for His devotees.so is Bhagavan's intervention is also within the orbit of prarabdha or is it His Grace and Mercy exercising against unfavourable events due to prarabdha, though i understand that realisation is the ultimate solution .kindly enlighten me. OM Namo Bhagavate Shri Ramanaya priya.
Guest guest
Dear all, this is satheesh. its definitely because of Prarabdha/good deeds of the past, that one comes to the Presence of a Jnani like Bhagavan.. But after having come to His Presence, one really do not have to worry much about the fate/destiny. He can/will alter/shape the events accordingly, to reduce the devotee's sufferings, though we might not be aware of the same.. At the same time,Bhagavan Himself has said that, Jnani does not interfere with Prarabdha that often..And, its a fact that, He has told Devaraja Mudaliar that every thing in our life is Predetermined. So we can assume that our difficulties will be greatly reduced, as we constantly remember Him / stay back at the Source..And, He will take care of the rest. Guest guest
Dear priya, Doesn't this depend on where the questioner stands? Didn't Ramana also tell people to inquire? More than once I have asked my teacher, Nome of SAT in Santa Cruz, CA, USA, questions like this. One form of the question I have asked is, "Who chooses ?" Nome says that as long as there is one to choose, then choose wisely, choose to look within, choose to inquire, choose to practice. If there is on one to choose, then there are no choices to be made. (Nome did not say there words, but this is my understanding.) Guest guest
>From Talks: Free-Will holds the field in association with individuality. As long as individuality lasts so long there is Free-Will. All the sastras are based on this fact and they advise directing the Free-Will in the right channel. Find out to whom Free-Will or Destiny matters. Abide in it. Then these two are transcended. That is the only purpose of discussing these questions. To whom do these questions arise? Find out and be at peace. (12th June 1937, nr. 426)
