Hi Kiran,

Vachanamrutham - Sri Ramana Maharshi, a translation of first part

of "Talks with Ramana Maharshi" is availbale now. Translated by S.

Saraswathi Warrier, published by DC Books. And the second part may

come out soon. I found this translation (translated from Tamil)

extremely good and in many places more lucid than the English

equivalent.

Try this link.

Thanks for this useful information, Sri Murali.

May I also take this opportunity to inform members that practically all of Sri

Bhagavan’s work translated into Malayalam has become lost. The only version of

the Forty Verses on Truth/Existence (and Upadesa Udiyar/Upadesa Saaram) which

we have are those in the Ashram publication “The Works of Bhagavan Sri Ramana

Maharshi in His Own Handwriting”. These pages are facsimiles of Bhagavan’s hand

writing, taken from a notebook which he wrote out for the benefit of his

personal attendant Swami Sivananda; because the attendant was Tamil, and

therefore unfamiliar with the Malayalam syllabary (‘alphabet’), it is written

out in the Tamil transliterated characters for him. Very nice to be able to

follow the tape for those who are familiar with Tamil but not Malayalam. To

read it in Malayalam, it would be necessary for an expert to reconstruct it.

PS: Anyone able to reconstruct or find anything written by the Master in any

Indian language is of course more than welcome. Something may well be “be out

there”.

Vachanamrutam is very good.

Upadesa Saram in Malayalam -- composed by Bhagavan Himself -- has been published

by Ramana Maharshi Center for Learning, Bangalore. Some years ago, the ashram

had reprinted a Malayalam version of the Golden Jubilee Souvenir.

The ashram library has an out of print book by Swami Sureshananda.
